Joint research - About our research activities

RIOE always seeks for its collaborating companies to further promote the development of technologies regarding the Organic EL lighting, as follows.

1. Our policy for joint researches

A research theme is first determined by mutual consent of RIOE and the company. The company then dispatches some research workers to station at RIOE, who serve the R&D with RIOE cooperatively.

(1) A theme of joint research has to belong to below categories. We discuss a proposed theme by the company and then settle the final one together.

1. Research and development of Organic devices

⋯To develop technologies for longer operating lifetime

2. Development of Manufacturing technology

⋯To develop technologies for fabrication

3. Product development

4. Development of peripheral technologies regarding the above 1-3

(2) A status of worker the company dispatches to RIOE, hereinafter referred to as dispatched researcher, is pursuant to employees of RIOE. The dispatched researcher, therefore, has to observe RIOE is labor regulations or the like including working hours and holiday.
In addition, the company which dispatches joint-researchers owes the labor cost of the dispatched researchers.

(3) The dispatched researcher, the collaborating company and RIOE mutually have a duty to keep secret information gained in the process of their joint research confidential.

RFID Card/ Ito Denshi

A noncontact IC card provided with a thin Organic EL display shows information. No battery is required for the display. The RFID Card can display by sharing power supplied from a RF transmitter with a RFID chip. Organic EL first made it possible what is difficult to do with a liquid crystal or LED.

Digital Picking System/ Takahata Electronics

Being thinner and more visible than a LED, and working under at even low temperature unlike a liquid crystal, Organic EL is being developed for uses including inventory management in refrigerated warehouses.

2. Necessary expenses for your joint research

(1) Fixed expenses (Annual amount; consumption tax included)

1. A company whose head office is located in Yamagata prefecture: ¥2.1 million per a research theme

2. A company except ones in No. 1: 5.25 million per a research theme.

(2) Additional expenses

You may pay extra expenses to purchase appurtenances, ingredients, etc. that the research theme especially needs.
